The concept for Hasami Porcelain was designed by Takuhiro Shinomoto while he was living in Venice, California. Takuhiro wanted to bring a new level of artistry to contemporary tableware and home decor by blending traditional Japanese porcelain crafting practices with versatile post-modern design. So, he took his vision to the source of quality Japanese pottery. Each piece of Hasami Porcelain is handmade in the town of Hasami, with various craftspeople contributing to the overall design process. Separate artisans are responsible for sourcing and mixing the clay, moulding the pieces, glazing them, baking them, and every step in between. When you purchase a Hasami product, you can be sure that it has received the utmost attention and care from a wide rage of master craftspeople working collectively to bring the best pieces to their customers.
